Privacy
Your privacy matters.
What we collect when you register or contact us, why we need it, and how we look after it.
01Who we are
TEDxLGSJT is an independently organised TEDx event at LGS Johar Town, Lahore. The TEDxLGSJT organising team decides how the personal information described here is used. You can reach us through the contact form; a dedicated privacy contact address will be added here once confirmed.
02What we collect
When you register
- your full name, e-mail address and phone number;
- how you are attending (for example as a student or a guest) and, if you choose to tell us, your school or organisation;
- whether you would like us to contact you about access requirements, and whether you want event updates;
- the time you gave consent, your registration reference and its status, and notes the organising team adds to manage your registration.
When you contact us
Your name, e-mail address, the topic you choose and your message.
To keep the service secure
With each registration or message we store a one-way, keyed fingerprint of your network address (not the address itself) and your browser’s identification string, so that abuse can be detected. Our web server also keeps short-term technical logs, which can include network addresses, for security.
We do not collect identity-card numbers, dates of birth or health information.
03Why we use it
- to manage your registration and confirm your place;
- to contact you about the event, including changes and practical information;
- to reply to your messages and, if you asked, to discuss access requirements;
- to send you updates about TEDxLGSJT, only if you opted in — you can opt out at any time;
- to keep the website and the event secure.
05Where and how long
Information is stored in a database on infrastructure managed for the organising team in Pakistan, and travels between your browser and our server over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
We keep registration and contact information only for as long as we need it to run the event and its follow-up, and no longer than twelve months after the event, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Security logs are kept for a short period.
07Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and you can withdraw consent to updates at any time. To make a request, use the contact form and mention your registration reference if you have one.
If you are under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian knows that you are registering.
08Security
Administrator passwords are stored only as strong one-way hashes, sign-in attempts are limited, sessions expire automatically and every significant administrative action is logged. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
09Changes to this policy
If we change how we use personal information, we will update this page and the date below it.
