Ideas. People. Impact.
TEDxLGSJT is an independently organised TEDx event at LGS Johar Town, Lahore. It exists to give the ideas in our community a stage, and to bring together the people who will carry them further.
01Our purpose
Every idea starts small: a question asked out loud, a conviction finally voiced, an experiment that refused to stay on the page.
TEDxLGSJT gives those ideas a room: speakers from our community, each sharing one idea — clearly, honestly and briefly — with an audience that came to listen.
We believe in the power of conversation, creativity and collaboration to build a more thoughtful, inclusive and inventive future, starting with the people sitting next to each other on the day.
02TEDx and TED
TEDx is a program of TED that supports local, self-organised events in communities around the world. A TEDx event brings live speakers — and sometimes TED Talks on film — together to spark conversation and connection close to home.
Our event is called TEDxLGSJT, where x = independently organized TED event.
TED provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but each TEDx event is planned and run independently by its own organisers.
TED is a nonprofit devoted to sharing ideas, most famously through short, powerful talks. It began in 1984 as a conference where technology, entertainment and design met, and its talks now span almost every subject, in many languages.
Independently run TEDx events like ours help those ideas take root in local communities.
